I thought it would be worth putting out a quick post on the recently announced NW Health Hack that TechHub Manchester is proud to be part of.
Some of the best opportunities in business come when different people from diverse backgrounds come together to attack problems in one particular industry. The healthcare sector is already undergoing a transformation by this kind of innovation and we should be participating in it.
The North West is well placed for this opportunity. Why?
We have a world class academic community undertaking cutting edge research
We have an established health and pharmaceutical professional community with ideas for improvements
We have NHS trusts open to new ideas
We have access to investment
We have a developer and design community who know how to innovate quickly and apply user-centric design
The NW Health Hack brings all these groups together, refines ideas, matches skills, and aims to make a big difference in a short period of time.
Most people we know in the TechHub community and beyond have the ability to get involved and really make a difference. Were regularly hosting the Health2.0 meet up, who are also heavily involved in the event, and we have seen some of the potential that the North West has.
The weekend gives an opportunity for existing teams to get help on validation and business progress, and for new ideas to be tested. All levels of healthcare knowledge are welcome. Sometimes none can be an advantage!
You may not be technical, or in the healthcare industry; you may just have an idea for a problem that needs solving. The event is for everyone and all are welcome.
So take a look at the event and think about where you can benefit.
