With the rapid progress of the Latvian startup scene, TechHub Riga is launching a new mentoring program, available to members from November. Scheduled, regular mentoring by industry professionals will help startups improve their technical knowledge base, solve business-related issues and foster their growth.
For a long time, I have been asked what kind of advice we offer to members, and the answer has always been nothing formal, except for legal office hours from law firm Raidla, Leji? & Norcous. But now we are able to launch regular Office Hours sessions provided by great mentors, comments Andris K. Berzins, TechHub Riga Chairman of the Board. Thus, along with the co-working space, community and events, TechHub Riga member startups will receive in-depth mentoring not only in legal issues but also in marketing, funding, business planning, and accounting. These Office Hours are the next move to help Latvian startups become stronger and competitive.
Among mentors are Janis Skutelis (FlyCap), Anna Andersone (Froont), Egils Boitmanis (Infinitum8), Andris K. Berzins (TechHub Riga, Buzztale), Viesturs Sosars (Real Sound Lab), Arturs Mednis (Inspired Digital), Andris Rubins (DDB Latvia), Maris Dagis (Sellfy), Ernests Stals (Reach.ly), Signe Sneidermane (Repsonsum), Gunars Grundstoks (IT House), Leo Selavo (University of Latvia Faculty of Computing) and Ingrida Karina-Berzina (Raidla Lejins & Norcous).
Founded in 2012, TechHub Riga has since then become the central organization for startup activities in Riga, and the mentoring program is one part of TechHub Riga further growth. The development plan also includes the foundations fundraising campaign, created by TechHub Riga startup Funderful: https://techhub.itsfunderful.com/. As a non-profit with an all-volunteer board, the foundation depends on external support. Although all startups pay a membership fee, additional resources are required to cover the operating costs of the foundation. By sponsoring a desk or a mug at TechHub Riga, the contributors become always-present in the community and lets TechHub Riga continue supporting Latvian technology entrepreneurship.
