TechHub Bucharest is a proud supporter of the How to Web MVP Academy

Hi everyone!

We have some great news to share with you today: How to Web just announced the MVP Academy, a pre-acceleration program for startups in the region! TechHub Bucharest is a proud supporter of this program, which is why we'll tell you a bit more about it.

About the How to Web MVP Academy program

After creating a focal point for the local tech community in Bucharest with TechHub Bucharest, the team started planning another project that could fill the gap between the great tech potential and business potential the Eastern Europeans have. Thus, the MVP Academy was born in the form of a top-notch 7 week educational program, enhanced with key connections to amazing mentors and potential further investors.

This is a free, non-equity taking program, whose only requirements are talent & commitment!

The process will take the participating teams through a series of practical workshops, during which they will acquire key competencies for building a startup, from business intelligence to finance, legal aspects, product development, storytelling and many more.

Key tech people such as on Bradford (Managing Director, TechStars UK), Florin Talpes (CEO, Bitdefender), Alex Negrea (Co-founder & CTO, docTrackr), George Lemnaru (Founder, GreenHorse Games), Bobby Voicu (Co-founder & CEO, MavenHut), Vladimir Oane (Co-founder & CPO, uberVU), Olaf Lausen (New Business Development at Cosmote & Romtelecom Romania), Zoli Herczeg (Business Envagelist, Microsoft) will be involved in the program and the teams will be able to learn directly from them, thus consolidating their network and discovering valuable opportunities.

During the entire program, TechHub Bucharest will provide the co-working space for all the participating teams, giving them access to not just a friendly place to work from, but also to the local and regional community that is TechHub.

How to Web MVP Academy application criteria

The program is especially created for tech startups (teams or individuals) which meet the following criteria:
- have less than 2 years of activity, - have developed at least a minimum viable product, - havent raised more than 50.000 EUR until the moment they joined the program and - havent participated in any other acceleration program. The tech products they are working on must fall in one of the following categories: software, hardware, internet of things, mobile, robotics, biotech, medtech or ecommerce.

Applications for the program start today (April 30) and will end May 17. A specialist jury will evaluate the applications, considering key factors such as the team and its experience in the field, the target markets size, industry trends, the initial traction, the feasibility, and the scalability of the product. The teams accepted into the MVP Academy will be announced Friday, May 23rd, and the program will start on June 2nd, ending on July 22 with Demo Day.

The How to Web MVP Academy is a program developed in partnership with Microsoft, Romtelecom and Cosmote, with the support of Bitdefender, Raiffeisen Bank, Hub:raum and TechHub Bucharest.
