TechChill, the main annual startup and technology conference in Latvia, is announcing a partnership with the legendary Positivus Festival, the largest music festival in the Baltic States. TechChill will host a summer session during the festival, inviting the participants to chill and be inspired at the bright blue TechChill Summer Hub.
Startup and technology conference TechChill is the most established annual event in Latvia for tech entrepreneurs and startups. The next event will take place on 9 February in Riga for the 6th year, offering inspirational experience stories on the agenda and a house full of industry leaders. “This is a unique partnership with a common purpose - to showcase the best and brightest talents from the Baltics in one place, whether it’s music, technology or creative ambition,” says Marija Rucevska, Head of the TechChill.
TechChill Summer Hub at Positivus is powered by SDVentures, the international umbrella brand for a group of technology and software engineering companies. Company’s portfolio includes more than 50 unique online brands (Shazam, TripTogether, Dating.com, LinguaLeo, StreetLife), and is one of the investors in AirDog. “The ethos of our company is to empower people to discover each other through the power of shared interests and mutual benefit, and this event is the perfect example of such collaboration. We see a lot of potential in this region and look forward to come up with our co-working for IT startups at the premises of our Riga office,” says Dmitry Volkov. The Latvian-founded drone startup AirDog will also be one of the guests at the TechChill Summer Hub expo.
The agenda of TechChill Summer Hub includes a Pitch Master Class where anyone will be able to learn a few tips and tricks for selling their cool idea, followed by an open Idea Pitch Battle with chances to win big prizes from TechChill and the sponsors. On Saturday, the Hub will host a panel on the Baltic startup ecosystem, where the main startup movers and shakers will informally discuss what the Baltics have to offer to the world as a growing startup hub. Guests include the managing director of Startup Wise Guys Egita Polanska, board member of the Latvian Startup Association and ex-Minister of the Economy Daniels Pavluts, Ernests Stals the co-founder of TechHub Riga, Dmitry Volkov from Social Discovery Ventures and quite possibly a few surprise government heads from our friendly neighbours, without their entourage. To start off the evening, Jonathan Howard from Saatchi&Saatchi Ideas Academy will deliver a keynote speech on creative thinking.
During the whole three days, TechChill Hub will host a Tech DJ, free WiFi and charging spots, as well as an expo of the coolest tech and gadgets from the Baltics. Startups looking to showcase their ideas are welcome to apply at http://ej.uz/spgg
