One of the most amazing parts of the tech ecosystem in London is that way in which people can come together to celebrate one another’s successes. Today we’re celebrating the awesomeness of TechHubbers, StreetHub, who have gone double bubble with reasons to be cheerful! Firstly - the launch of Trouva their new platform to an exclusive collection of 350 independent retailers trading with StreetHub! Secondly - they’ve closed their second round of funding at $2.6 million!
StreetHub’s new website, Trouva, is an online curated store, selecting the best of the 350 independent stores. Mandeep Singh, co-founder of StreetHub, described Trouva as the “Logical next step for us in our mission to help our amazing independent retailers to reach an even wider audience and help more customers to discover these inspiring, individual collections of products.” Over 40,000 customers have used StreetHub’s iPhone app to browse and make purchases from retailers Streethub has partnered with in the brief period since its launch last year. Despite Trouva’s recent launch retailers have already begun praising its the changes it has made for them. Dan Rigby, proprietor of Rigby & Mac stated “Over the last month, our sales are up 10% thanks to Trouva.”
Led by Octopus Ventures with additional investment from Index Ventures and Playfair Capital the second funding round of $2.6 million increases the total amount raised by StreetHub to $3.8 (£2.5) million!
Streethub are a new addition to the TechHub family, joining just a few of months ago and they love being here. “Being part of TechHub has been extremely helpful for us to grow our team in the right culture, surrounded by other startups that embrace the notion of a collaborative environment and the spirit of helping each other” says Alex Loizou, one of the co-founders.
Backed by incredible usage numbers and a fresh infusion of money StreetHub stands in a strong position to capitalise on their vast array of retailers and unique draw of offering 1 hour delivery in conjunction with Shutl.
