Google acquires TechHub member startup: Divide

I love it when we get to tell everyone about startup successes, and today is a whopper! Im thrilled to announce that TechHub member Alexander Trewby, co-founder of Divide has big news today: Divide has been acquired by Google!

Huge congratulations to Alexander and his mega hard-working team! I am fairly bouncing about with excitement over this - not just what it means for Divide, but as such a great success for the London tech scene.

Divide (formerly Enterproid) started life at Alexanders kitchen table in London with co-founders Andrew Toy and David Zhu, before moving to NYC and expanding to Hong Kong. Alexander gave Divides very first UK pitch at TechHubs Demo Night just over two years ago, before the team then expanded to London.

I asked Alexander to tell us a bit about his experience as a TechHub member and he said Im proud to have debuted Divide at TechHub, heres my shakily-taken picture of us on the programme, just before I got up to demo!

It was wonderful to also have TechHub as a speedily-provided home for us two summers ago when our lovely office down the road in Clerkenwell wasnt ready in time. Through the team at TechHub weve been able to meet and get help from other entrepreneurs and tech community folks, and help them too, and its been a valuable resource even as weve grown.

So remember folks, every time you go to a TechHub Demo Night , the entrepreneurs youre watching can be the next big things, and youre really important to helping them shape their products.

Awesomely, Alexander has agreed to come and meet TechHub members to talk about building an enterprise product, and what its like to go through the acquisition process. Keep your eyes peeled on the TechHub events page for dates and to register. In the meantime @Divide on twitter to cheer their success!

Well done!
